Summarizing the results of the first month
So, it seems that 30 % of the experiment is already done. Yey! Today I was thinking to summarize, how this first month has affected me. The changes that people usually seem to have, when experimenting paleo, are considered with at least with vitality, mood, physical perfomance, body structure, weight and skin. And these are the issues that I will now consentrate, because I can't really tell yet if the diet has had any impact on my decease.
Lets take vitality and mood first.
Even if I might be suffering from hypothyroidism I haven't had any sympthoms like tiredness yet... But I do have noticed that after starting with paleo and eating less carbs, I haven't had any after meal tiredness, which was very normal for me before. It has been very usefull to get rid of that because I'm currently reading for a university entrance examination. Before the diet I was really struggling with reading after meals... And what comes to my mood, I don't know if it is the diet or the spring or just life it self, but I have been in a much better mood than usually! Even my husband confirmed this! :D
I would really like to tell that my physical performance has enhanced enormously, but the truth is that I haven't noticed any change in that yet. I haven't made any spesific tests though. But when it comes to physical condition, one month is a really short time, so perhaps we well see some development during the next months. My body structure is also still the same. No huge muscles and fat amount is pretty much the same also. I haven't weight my self lately, but last time I did, I was 2,4 kg lighter than before the experiment. I could check my current weight tomorrow...
And then skin issues. These are quite personal things, but I promised to be honest and open, so...
As many other women, I too have had some amount of sellulite in my thights. (And yes, skinny persons can also have sellulite...) But I'm really happy to tell, that after this one month of paleo, the sellulite is almost totally gone! And I swear this is true! I think it might be the coconut oil, or at least I have heard that coconut might have that kind of influence. This was really an unexpected but very delightful surprise :D What I did of did expect though, but didn't happen, was some help to atopic rash. But unfortunately it hasn't disappeared or even deminished yet.
I have also heard that some people have gotten help to stomach or head aches, but I have never really suffered from those (more than randomly) so I can't at least yet tell if any change has happend.
Where do I go from here?
Today I started my final three months' training programme to Finntriahtlon competition. I'm having kind of an over effecient start because I'm going for a training camp right at the first weekend. But I can't wait for it really! Training camps are like holidays for me because I don't need to walk my dog, cook or anything like that :D just training, eating, sleeaaping and good company. It will be interesting again with this diet though, when I'm not at home and can't do all foods by my self... But I will do the best choices of the options that I have.
And for an ending to this post, I will add a springlike picture from my first bike ride this year :) it was really nice even if there was a lot of sand and rocks on the road at times.
